Adventure #27
Whoa! I am so sorry it's been so long!!! I've been so busy busy busy!!!
This past week I've been a VBS leader for 4th-6th graders! I love it so much because I actually get to be WITH the kids and not just for a short time as I am with lifeguarding and such, I just love it! It almost makes me want to be a counselor.... except... then I think about it... haha :)
We started out theology classes back up! (SOOOO pumped!!!)
Yesterday we learned about Sadistic views. That people view God as the punisher, that if something bad happens it's because YOU did something to upset God. and I'd be a liar if I told you I've never thought that way before about myself. I'm not saying that I thought that way for a long period of time, but the thought has definitely popped in my head like "oh, what'd I do to upset God?" but it is fully in God's plan what happens!
Another thing I've been soooo much more vocal about is the fact that YES God predestined us, buttttt that does not mean it is not in his plan that he uses us as tools to lead others into his kingdom, so don't ever. ever. EVER. pass up an opportunity to witness to people about Gods love :)

Adventure #26
Wellllll Hello! :)
Completed day 2! It was sooo hot yesterday!!! AND STILL NO GIRLS SWAM! I don't know what is going on with them this week... Every single boy swam though! I am no longer the boys lifeguard.. soo.... I had a bunch of free time to do other things that needed to get done! Which is good!
We had a big storm last night... so we had to end counselor hunt early, and played Knock Out in the gym, then sent them to bed early! (No one complained!) Mightttt have had to do with the fact that the lightning was crazy lighting up the sky last night and the thunder was going and going and going! :) It was super cool though! I absolutely love storms! But, I gotta say. Being in a camper during a windy storm. NOT the funnest thing around, but it was pretty sweet still!!!
Today is already alot cooler! I see lots of hoodies as I look out to flag pole! And lots of coffee when it comes to staff! Please pray that we keep our energy and enthusiasm levels up! We are slowly losing that as this is our last week, EVERYONE in staff meeting was draining today! So keep us in your prayers!
Lately we've been learning alot about the flesh and the spirit and all that it does for us and what it doesn't do for us!
AND We are getting tons of rain!!! YAY!!!! :)

Adventure #25
Hey! Sorry it's been such a long time!!! Been so insanely busy!!!
I had an amazing time at home! I missed my family sooo much!!! It was amazing getting to see my best friend! I miss her like crazy all ready! I got to spend some awesome time with my adopted Sister too! (Miss ya Tangers!)
I got back and I moved in with a new family, they are awesome!!! I get a basement to myself and its really nice, they have 3 amazing kiddos! Zach, Alyssa and Josh! :) I love them so very much!
I went to the lake(meaning multiple lakes...) both on Saturday and on Sunday! Rode some jetski's (drove them too!) and only fell off a couple hundred times... haha, rode the boat and swam around! Lets just say... I'm still sore! AND we plan on going back this weekend too... haha
It is so good to be back in this church also! (Not that I didn't absolutely love being in my home church, I love that one! DEFF something I was super excited was to hear Pastor Buford preach once again!) I love this church here so much because it's alot like my church back home, so I feel at home! It's just "slightly" bigger(meaning alot) This past Sunday we got to hear from Missionaries our church sent over to Uganda for about 2 months! It was awesome... makes me want to go! :) (I'm praying about all opportunities for everything)
Week 3 day 1 of camp is complete!!! It was good! We have 18ish campers(ish because I'm not 100% sure)
It's going great! Its a pretty good group of kids! 7th-9th grade, so we deal with some attitudes, but that also may be due to the fact its the final week and everyones running low on enthusiasm, so please keep us in your prayers! :)
Also pray for the weather! It's going to be in the late 90's and 100's all week! So just pray that we all remember to drink water! It was 101 yesterday and NO GIRLS SWAM, I was just like "really? I'd be in this pool if I could..." haha, it really is going great though! :) Thanks for the prayers!

Adventure #24
Alright...
So.. this is gonna be an honest post! :)
This is me, asking for some prayer, it's a super hard thing for me to do. I'm the type of person that likes to fix problems and not ask for help. Well, thank the Lord, but he's helping me over come that and I'm asking for some prayer!
I have a really reallyyyy hard time remembering things (people who know me can stop laughing now...haha) so.. that being said.. things that are suppose to get done sometimes don't get done, orrrrr take forever to get done.. and it's not always(but sometimes is) laziness.. sometimes I truly and honestly just forget about things.. and when I remember I feel awful that I forgot... so... please pray as I go back to camp that I remember or at least remember to write down the things I need to get done!
Also, please just pray for patience and pride. I have a terrible time asking for help or admitting I'm wrong, or admitting I am overwhelmed and stressed... I'd much rather just shut my mouth and deal with it on my own. Which is bad. We are suppose to give ALL things to God. Not just the HUGE things in our life. The itty bitty ones that mean "nothing" or the things that you are to embarrassed about..
Please pray that I get over the pride issue. and That I just have patience when I need it most...whichhhh is about all the time at camp.. haha
Also, just pray for God's direction for my life! I think I know where he's sending me, but thinks need to change first! So pray that I can make those changes!!!
Alright, I think that is it for tonight! :) Goodnight all!

Adventure #22
Week 2. Day 1= Complete
This week is already a whole lot less stressful!
Please still be praying for patience, because the kids this week are a bit loud and tend to not listen very well!
Our speaker this week is John Cox, he use to be a football coach, he's really cool! He's taking us into Romans 8 and teaching us from it. It's a pretty neat thing that I've never really seen done this way!
I'm sorry but my blog posts are going to be short due to the fact I sprained my elbow and wrist, so it hurts to type!!!
SO until Adventure #23!
Janelle!

Adventure #21
WOW!
Week One= COMPLETE
Status? Exhausted.
But it was a pretty good week, we had some superrrr rough days.. buttttt all in all it was successful!
The kids loved the skits, and Pastor Dean! :) He has a way of telling Bible stories that make you look at them in a whole new light!
The games were fun! No one died in the pool (or anywhere else for that matter)
No staff killed each other. No counselor killed any kids.
So, yes. VERY Successful week ;) haha
I love 3rd and 4th graders, I love their view on things, and watching them talk and play with each other, it is by far my favorite age group!
This past week was our "test" week on some changes we made, and some flopped and others soared! So it was a good thing! We had one kid flip an ATV but he was fine, nothing hurt!
As next week comes around please please keep us in your prayers, as us staff are hesitant to start another week after the stressful one last week. Pray we get excited and get enthusiastic as the 5-7th graders come into camp! :)

Adventure #17
Well!!!! Lets start with Saturdays happenings! We left the church at 9AM then drove the 3 hours to Denver CO. (we stopped for lunch at McDonalds) then we went straight to go carting, and I'll be honest! I was terrified. I throughly thought I was going to die.. and before you role your eyes, realize not only was I wearing a tank top and short, buttttt these specific go carts for 60MPH more or less. I was freaking out! I actually did get to wear a full suit!
Todays theology class just kinda blew me out of the water!!!
We talked about how to study the Bible and well... just about everything!
Here are a couple of things I learned...
Basic Bible Statistics.
-Best selling book of all time
- 92% of Americans own Bibles
- 37% say they read the Bible once a week
-14% Say they study the Bible each week
-14% say they are involved in a Bible Study Group
-50% of adults interviewed could name any of the four Gospels of the New Testament
- Just 37% of those interviewed could name all four
-Only 42% of adults were able to name five of the Ten Commandments
-Just 70% were able to name the town where Jesus was born
-and Just 42% could name him as the person who delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
and just the biggest thing was just...
Not ever reading the Bible out of habit and
because you "have" to,
Don't pick and choose the verses you want. (don't be topical)
Don't magically assume that every single verse applies to your life somehow.
A fellow intern quoted her friend
"Sometimes it doesn't mean it applies to you right here, right now, sometimes.. it just means God is Great."
Don't try to find the "hidden meaning" in the verses!
And also. STOP TAKING THE VERSES OUT OF CONTEXT!
And alsoooo again... Heresy isn't always an out right rebellion against God, it is sometimes a lack of understanding.
I am so terribly sorry if I offend some people. But... hey stop reading if I am:) I could go farther. But I shan't! :) Thanks for reading! :)
I only spun out twice... and I'm just super glad there weren't microphones in the helmets.... I screamed just about ever turn... My friend Josh got started(thankfulkly after i had gone, otherwise I might not have gone...) but the breaks on his go cart went out on the first turn!!!! He won! haha, he came into the pit stop afterwards squealing and going crazy... it was so scary... haha but sooo much fun!!!
After that, we went shopping in an outdoor mall! It was so much fun just walking around Denver and just people watching! :) and plus I got a startbucks!
Then we went to the Rockies game, they played the Padres! (the rockies lost... not terribly shocking...)

Adventure #14, 15 AND 16
I am sooo sorry! I have not been posting as much as I should be!!!
Well, after the bacon day, we had to make cookies, and sometimes when I jump out of bed fast and instantly do something I get really sicky feeling. So, on Tuesday we were suppose to be in the kitchen at 6AM and someeehow we forgot to set an alarm and overslept by 20minutes so I changed really fast and ran into the kitchen and instantly felt sick, and dizzy and then it felt like someone grabbed my head and was slowly lifting it from my body, I then fell down(in a sitting position) and then they told me to go back to bed, so I did! Anddd I woke up 3 hours later feeling EXCELLENT! And got right into baking cookies! :) We baked over 300 I think!!!
But yeah, when you sleep, your body get regulates your blood so it is circulating in a body laying down, so when you jump up and instantly start doing work it can't catch up with you fast enough and the blood doesn't get to your brain fast enough and you get dizzy! (BOOYAAA! Learned that in my first aid class!!! )
Then we had yesterday to just clean! So we cleaned the kitchen, dining hall, and bathrooms!! Then we went to a John Piper devo! It is so awesome! I do my daily devotions from him, so its an awesome addition to my week!
Today we have already cooked up 30LB's of hamburger, we still have 15lb's to go...it's thawing! Then we are going to watch the Spurs and the Heat play! (The Heat will WIN of course!!!!)
Then we have tomorrow off! And on Saturday its off to Go-Carting and and the Rockiessss!!!!!
I also got news that my amazing little brother got A part in the Wizard Of Oz in St. Joseph MO!!!! SOOO PROUD OF HIM!!!! :)

SO! Yesterday we had a finance and how to study the Bible class! The finance was great! It helped me realize just how important my budget is! And that if I don't have money. DON'T BUY ANYTHING!
The how to study the Bible part was really tough! I just had no idea and I learned SO much from the 5 verses we had to study! It was really good and I plan on using it on a daily basis when I try to study my Bible!!!
Then we had to ride horses! (I love that! We HAD to!) because camp is only 3 weeks away so, we have to start breaking in our 10 horses! I rode Bisquit! He, is a PIG! All he wanted to do was eat! But, we bonded and we're buddies now...well as much as you can be with a horse! I can't wait to ride more!
Today we were suppose to pack up and ride to Hallseyto go ATVing but because of storms we can not... soooo I have NO idea what today... I shall keep you posted :)

Adventure #9 and #10
Well today in theology class we learned about Jesus! :)
And well, Jesus was already great in my mind, but when we learned this...
That when Jesus became fully man(while still being fully God) when he came to earth, after he died. He stays fully man in Heaven too, while still being fully God. His body is in Heaven but his spirit is in us.
It was just an "Woah.." moment... he chose to stay man, and suffer and limit himself(while at the same time NOT limiting himself because he is God) by staying man!
Anyways I spent the day weed wacking! Andddd someone really strained my wrist, it hurts really bad(please pray that goes away!)
Today was spent getting everything on our to-do lists done!!! So I got a tonnnnn done today! Tomorrow is our Bible Quiz meeting! Yay!

Adventure #8
Well today was quite the day!!!!
We had a tough class on Time Management and theology on the Trinity!!!!
Here is one of the descriptions!
"The doctrine of the Trinity cannot be comprehended by finite minds. It must be accepted by faith(Heb. 11:6) The Apostles Creed begins by mentioning all three persons of the Trinity. The Westminster COnfession has an eloquent statement/defense of the Trinity. "There are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory."
The classic statement is in the Athanasian Creed. "We worship one God on Trinity and Trinity in Unity, neither confounding the Persons nor dividing the substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son and another of the Holy Spirit. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit is all one: the glory equal, the majesty co-eternal. Such as the Father is, such is the Son and such is the Holy Spirit: The Father uncreated and eternal, the Son uncreated and eternal, the Holy Spirit uncreated and eternal. None is before or after. So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods, but one God. The understanding that God is a Trinity is unique to Christianity. Most non-Christian religions are either animistic or polytheistic. The few that believe in one God have NO understanding of His being three Persons in One. All major psuedo-CHristian cults emphatically deny the belief as well. This fact is one of the greatest proofs that this is divinely revealed truth." (Could man's reason ever produce a teaching like this?!?"
the rest of the day was spent mowing in a wholeeeeeeeeeee bunch of wind!!!!! I took the meaning "going green" wayyyyy to far ;) hahaha. I was coateddd in grass! And have been blowing dirt out of my nose ever since :P haha, andddd tomorrow I shall be mowing more! So wish me luck :)

Adventure #7
Heyyyy! :)
Well today theology class was crazy! We learned a couple of things(by that I mean A TON OF THINGS)
#1.There is a dignity, a uniqueness in man that is in NOTHING else.
#2. that EVERY person is made in God's image. The unloveable ones, or that one person you avoid in church, that one kid you tell that your car is full so you don't have to ride with him, that kid in school that acts weird. EVERY.ONE.OF.THEM. is made in God's image! Think about that the next time you avoid someone or instantly not like them. I know I will.
#3 we were born dead, and unless God regenerates us, we have no hope.
Ephesians 2:1-3
"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind."
and the rest of the day we spent cleaning!!!! We got the chapel all clean and organized! And the game room! And the nurses station, and bathrooms, and dining hall! Successful day if I'd say so myself!

Adventure #6
Well hello! Sorry I didn't post yesterday! Weekends are usually a bit crazy!
This weekend I've been with the Malmkars all weekend! We saw Star Trek, rode fourwheelers, had a nail party, taught Monica (a girl that I'll be doing weekly devotions with!) how to curl hair, had a makeup party, learned about farming, and guns... and a whole bunch of other things!
My Boss at Camp Mac', Rick Cleaver, spoke at church today and he said something that completely struck a cord in me!
"The fruit you produce as Christians is for the fulfillment of others."
How insane is that?!?! That the fruit we produce as Christians isn't for us? Its to HELP OTHERS in EVERYWAY!!!!! Whoa... Mind=Blown.
And that Matthew 7:21-23 are by far the scariest verses in the Bible....
I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
So... now that I(well hopefully) got your mind thinking! What do you guys think? Any advice? Or questions? Thanks for reading again! I'm watching a movie with Alex and Dylan! So I shall write again tomorrow! I have another theology class and more work at camp! :-D Night all!

Adventure #4
Well! Today was just awesome!!! We did a theology class this morning with Rick! Man, it completely blew my mind!!! All the awesome stuff in the Bible, thats just sitting there, just waiting for us to learn! One major thing I took from the class was that the Bible and God are the only authority. That the Bible is our filter for everything. Relationships. College. Friends. Every. Decision. You. Make. This is class I will look forward to every single day!!! :) I can't wait to see what I learn next!
Anddddd then after a good lunch of Hot Dogs, Mac and Cheese, and Rice we set to work on laying the Gym floor! and after 2ish hours, and a quick break to see a 2footer Bull snake, we got the entire gym floor cut and glued!!!!! and Set up!!! AH! Such an amazingly successful day! :-D And now it is off to go get ready for a weekend with my favorite family and the premiere of Star Trek (no judging) Until next time!

Adventure #3
Whoaaaa! 2 posts in one day? I am on a roleeee!
Well today I got to vaccum my pool, and add chemicals! I also washed the deck and the side of the pool, and when I was done, (not joking) a minute later rain started to pourrrrrrrr down! So I had to quickly run back to my camper (oh! The AC guy came and fixed it today!!! Props!) and shut all the windows and also run to my friend(and co-interns) car and shut all her truck windows!
But one thing I got to do today was learn alotttt about horses! Before today I always had a healthy fear of them, I still kinda do I suppose, but I love them! I love being with them! and petting them! And feeding them! haha Zac and I did have to clean the coral, and the inside stalls and outside stalls today of Manure but, ya know... I got a fancy farmers tan going right now :)
Please pray I find boots to work with the horses more! I desperately in need of a pair! I have only my Nike sneakers and their my running/sports/everyday shoe soooo I'd prefer those did not get ruined! I'm a size 8 1/2- 9 if anyone knows anything ;) haha, well I am absolutely starving after such a long day! "See" you all tomorrow!!!!

Summer Adventure #1
Well Helloooooo!
I am currently sitting in the office of Camp Machasay! :) This is my very first day of work in my Camp Internship!
I have learned what its like to be completely miserable...well at least for a small amount of time... haha :)It was my job (as the lifeguard) to jump into the pool to hook up, unscrew, screw and make sure everything ran smoothly inside the pool... yes it was about 92 degrees outside today... but jumping into a pool that has been covered pretty much all winter, anddd in a place they were shoveling snow out last week! It was freezzzzzzingggggggg! I was shivering and shaking and numb all over! I had to give up, and the camp manager actually jumped in and managed to do it all for me! I got to do the chemicals instead... it was a very fun experience, one I hope to never experience again ;) (Nah, I will do whatever the Lord asks of me!) Well its off to dinner with my family! So until next time, I hope you enjoy reading about all my camp crazyiness! :)
